List Editor

  • Software - Click on the Show List icon at the upper left side of the edit area.

  4. To adjust the note Type and Value:

    • From the hardware:
Within the List Editor, use the arrow buttons to highlight the Mod Type/Value for a particular note.  You can then adjust the Type and Value of the chosen note using the DATA DIAL.

    • From the software:
Within the List Editor, double-click anywhere on the note you want to modify and a window will open.

  5. A final feature to be aware of in the List Editor is the ability to see the location of the note as a visible numeric reference.  In the List Editor, the column of this field is titled Time.  The selected note can be adjusted when using the Nudge feature.

By default, the Tick field (the smallest amount of time a note can be adjusted by) is set to 96 PPQN (parts per quarter note), so it is represented with two numeric locations..  The MPC software allows the user to adjust the note in even smaller increments if you so choose.  To do this:

    • In the MPC software, choose Edit > Preferences

    • In the window that opens, choose the Sequencer tab.  In the Sequencer tab, click on the drop-down menu next to Display Resolution and change the setting from 96 PPQN (parts per quarter note) to 960 PPQN and press OK

    • This adjustment adds a third numeric value to the Tick field, allowing the user to Nudge the chosen note in much smaller increments and see the associated numeric value of the adjustment in the List Editor.

    • To adjust this field:

      • From the hardware:
Press SHIFT-STEP SEQ to enter the List Editor.  Use the arrows to highlight the Time field of the chosen note you want to adjust.  Press F4 Nudge.  Use the DATA DIAL to nudge the note to the time location of your choice.  You will see the adjustment in the MPC software List Editor in real time.

      • From the software:
Within the List Edit screen, double-click anywhere on the note you want to adjust and a window will appear.
