The iO Hub is "class-compliant", meaning it does not require any drivers. Computers running Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 or Mac OSX 10.6 and above will automatically recognize the iO Hub.

Yes! The iO Hub has an on board battery compartment (batteries sold separately) that provides 48 volts of Phantom Power for use with condenser microphones. Dynamic microphones will work without needing Phantom Power.
The iO Hub requires a USB connection for power. The on board battery compartment is used only to provide the Phantom Power to condenser mics.
